Theme and Variation: Matisse

In the center is my slightly altered version of Tiari, created by Matisse in 1930 after a trip to the South Seas. It is lush and sensuous with the floral shape reflecting the hair and face of a woman. On the left, is a bust of his model Henriette Darricarrere. On the right, is an abstracted version of the piece, exaggerating the floral and sensuous forms.
